About TwentyNinety and Active Array™

TwentyNinety was founded in 2004 to develop innovative enabling technologies for the renewable energy generation industry.

Active Array™ is the company’s first technology. It was developed to provide valuable Photovoltaic management and control information to a fast growing industry with very little enabling infrastructure, and to respond to basic performance limitations inherent in the design of a Photovoltaic array.

Active Array™ was patented in 2006, and the company was successful in raising investment to commercialise the technology in 2008.

Richard Pitkin

Management Team

Richard joined TwentyNinety at the beginning of 2008 to drive the development of the company.

Richard is an experienced entrepreneur and business leader. Richard started his career with Rank Xerox and subsequently held technology and management roles with Andersen Consulting and Dow Chemical prior to founding a specialist IT technology and services company.

Andy Barber

Management Team

Commercial Director Andy joined TwentyNinety in 2009 to accelerate the global commercialisation process of the TwentyNinety technology.

A seasoned technology and business executive, Andy was a main Board Member and Managing Director of E-T-A Ltd, Director of Europe, Middle East and Africa for ChipX and Integrated Silicon Systems, and has held a number of senior posts from within the Semiconductor and High Technology industry.

Steve Lindsey

Management Team

Chief Technology Officer Steve is a co-founder of TwentyNinety and inventor of Active Array™ technology. He is also co-founder and inventor of Lontra technologies.

Steve’s early career was in the software and professional services industry. Steve is responsible for TwentyNinety’s ongoing technology development and strategy.

Simon Hombersley

Board Member

Chairman Simon is a co-founder of TwentyNinety and has directed the company through its initial concept and product development.

He is a successful Cleantech entrepreneur and is also founder and director of Lontra which has developed a portfolio of energy efficient engine technologies.
