TwentyNinety was founded in 2004 to develop innovative enabling technologies for the renewable energy generation industry.

Active Array™ is the company’s first technology. It was developed to provide valuable Photovoltaic management and control information to a fast growing industry with very little enabling infrastructure, and to respond to basic performance limitations inherent in the design of a Photovoltaic array.
Active Array™ was patented in 2006, and the company was successful in raising investment to commercialise the technology in 2008.

Simon Hombersley – Chairman
Simon is a co-founder of TwentyNinety and has directed the company through its initial concept and product development. He is a successful Cleantech entrepreneur and is also founder and director of Lontra which has developed a portfolio of energy efficient engine technologies. Simon’s commercial background is in public affairs and during his career he has worked on clients such as Transport for London, BAE systems and the Segway Human Transporter. Simon is a member of the Environment Advisory Board of the London Technology Network.

Richard Pitkin – Managing Director
Richard joined TwentyNInety at the beginning of 2008 to manage the development and commercialisation of Active Array™. Richard is an experienced entrepreneur and business leader. Richard started his career with Rank Xerox and subsequently held technology and management roles with Andersen Consulting and Dow Chemical prior to founding a specialist IT technology and services company.

Steve Lindsey – Chief Technology Officer
Steve is a co-founder of TwentyNinety and inventor of Active Array™ technology. He is also co-founder and inventor of Lontra technologies. Steve’s early career was in the software and professional services industry. Steve is responsible for TwentyNinety’s ongoing technology development and strategy.
